Zurich Old Town
Join us on a trip through the Old Town and city centre of Zurich. From the roman baths to the grave inscriptions; from the city walls to our decapitated Patron Saints; from Lenin's House to the House of Dadaism. We will meet at 10:00 a.m. at the Foyer West in the university's main building. Something for history buffs, those who love exploring new cities, and those who just like to stroll!
Excursion Science City
Nestled between two hills and woodland, and partitioned off from the rest of the city is the Science City on Zurich's Hönggerberg, the new campus of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich (ETHZ), the other major university in Zurich. We will meet at 10:00 a.m. at the Foyer West in the university's main building and get a drive to the Science City. There we receive an introduction and a one-hour tour of the campus itself. Something for scientists, tinkerers and lovers of modern architecture!
By suitable weather, join us on a climb of Zurich's landmark mountain Üetliberg. We are meeting at 10:00 a.m. at the Foyer West in the university's main building. We will then head out to discover the Mountain, which once hardly peaked higher than the Limmat Glacier. After a stopover on the summit, we will make our way back to the afternoon-program of the 61st StuTS via train. Something for the sporty, hikers and nature-lovers!
